DAY 1

1:         Introduction to Workshop

2:         Communication and Interaction Basic Principles

Purpose: The purpose of this session is to build confidence as well as effective and interactive communication.  To be aware of how you look and sound to others and to develop confidence in your communication.

Outcome: Understanding on how confident and effective communications skills AND the awareness of “How others see and hear you” can change HOW your message is received.

            Lunch

 3:         “Mental Mapping”

Purpose: The purpose of this session is build on and develop the Principles of Communication in unscripted and less structured environments ie demonstrating to a live audience.  The key skill is to keep engagement and communication flowing.

Outcome: Ability to communicate in a natural unprompted or scripted and structured manner.  Understanding of transferrable skill to a structured environment.

4:         Presenting Food

Purpose: The purpose of this session is to build upon the Principles of Communication and the Mental Mapping session to keep communication flowing.  To understand the need for energy and enthusiasm, personal stories, engagement, interaction, motivation and inspiration to your audience.

Outcome: Ability to communicate about individual ingredients in a natural and engaging way, with energy and enthusiasm.  To allow your communication to show personality and character.

5:         Questions and Answers

Day 2

1:         Review of Day 1

2:         Warm up Presentation Exercise

            You will present to the camera for 1 minute on an unknown subject.

3:         Playback and Review

 4:         Engaging and Interactive Demonstrating

Purpose: The purpose of this session is to build upon the Principles of Communication, the Mental Mapping session and the Presenting Food session.  To understand the need for preparation and simplification of messages during demonstrations.  To understand, engage, interact, motivate and inspire your audience.

Outcome: Ability to demonstrate a recipe in a high impact engaging and interactive demonstration in a natural and confident way.  Understanding the importance of preparation to keep messages and demonstrations simple.

 5:         5 Minute Demonstration

You will demonstrate the preparation of scrambled eggs for 5 minutes.  This will be in the format of a live demonstration to an audience.  You are to use all the lessons from the session in your demonstration.

The exercise will be filmed and played back for feedback and review.

Lunch

6:         Co Hosting

Purpose: The purpose of this session is to build upon the Principles of Communication, the Mental Mapping session and the Presenting Food session.  You will use these skills and in addition, you will learn about how to interview.

Outcome: An ability to interview and co host with someone in an engaging, enthusiastic and natural way ensuring that you achieve the purpose of the interview.

7:         Video CV

You will prepare and present to camera a 1 minute Video CV / Personal Statement.  This will be professionally edited in 4K and sent to you.  It can be used for job applications, brand building or Social Media platforms.

 8:      Social Media and building the brand "CHEF"

You will learn about building and marketing an online profile for Social Media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Linkedin.  The session will guide you through the creation and exploitation of a brand ie YOU.

 9:         END
